S.T.E.M Car Crashes!
4th grade S.T.E.M students have been studying energy transfers. They watched a video about cars slamming into other cars and walls at different velocities. Next, They experimented with pennies, ramps, toy cars, and other small objects. Two students, Sloane and Emma, conducted an experiment where they rolled a marble on a cardboard ramp leading down to hidden dominoes in a tube. The goal was to knock all of them down from above without viewing the action. Instead, they listened for the sound of dominoes crashing to the floor. In the end, the 4th grade scientists learned an assortment of information about energy transfers!
