Good Community Service Opportunity This Saturday
Community Event – Habitat Restoration
There are two options this Saturday for a chance to improve your community and earn community service hours. Habitat restoration is the process of removing invasive species and improve habitats for wild animal and native plants. On Saturday, September 22nd, Marin Municipal Water District and One Tam, are hosting two restoration projects.
One project includes the chance to plant native plants, and pull weeds near a tidal marsh. Work will involve bending and walking on uneven terrain, but is suitable for ages 5 and up as long as a guardian is present. This project will meet across from Marin General Hospital at Hal Brown Park at Creekside. Bring sturdy shoes, water, and call (415) 763-2977 to RSVP or get more information at http://www.onetam.org/habitat-restoration-creekside-marsh-hosted-marin-county-parks-and-one-tam-12
The second opportunity is near Lake Lagunitas from 9-12. Ages 13 and up are invited, and minors must have a guardian present. Meet at the Lake Lagunitas parking lot at 9 for a ride to the site. Check out http://www.marinwater.org/Calendar.aspx?EID=811 for more information.
This is not a school sponsored event and supervision will not be provided.
